The Government of the
United States of America has deployed thousands of troops in the territory of
Iraq and Afghanistan. The Government deems these two countries as terrorists’
hubs which are a potential threat to the security of the States and which are
capable of another attack like the one in September,
2001, popularly known as 9/11. The troops have been deployed to keep a check on
the terrorist activities and movements and take necessary actions to counter
them whenever necessary. These soldiers put their lives on line and go through
a lot of sufferings to safeguard their nation and its residents. These
sufferings include both physical as well as mental trauma and it affects the
overall lives of these troops. The government of the United States has set up a
special Department of Veterans Affairs for these
troops. The work of the department is to look into the needs and requirements
including of these troops which include healthcare and other medical
facilities. But the scope of the services is very limited due to a large number
of soldiers and different locations which are very difficult to access.And many
a times, these services by the Department are completely unavailable.
This is
where the Healing Heroes Network comes
into play. The Non-Profit Organization, which was founded in the year 2008 by
Dr. Allan Spiegel and his wife Stacey Spiegel, collects funds and donations
from various general people and use these funds to help these soldiers, who are
termed as the ‘National Heroes’ by the organization. Besides providing monetary
and financial assistance, the organization also provides some very important therapies
as well as services for injuries which include Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) and
Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) because HBOT is used off-label but is not
an official treatment for PTSD and TBI that are not currently provided by the Department of Veterans Affairs of the Government of United States of America. Hence, the
organization pays its tribute to the heroes of the nation by helping them
recover from their problems and sufferings which they attained while fighting
for the nation.
The
organization through its venture also provides the general public to come forward
and take a step towards helping these troops who sacrificed all their lives
only to safeguard and secure their sovereignty and freedom and by donating
money to the organization, the general public can thank the troops for their
services. Hence, Healing Heroes Network is
one of the best organization through which the real heroes are thanked for
their efforts.
